Why Your Blog Traffic Sucks and How You Can Fix it Now

Writing for your blog is fun, but getting readers to your post is a lot of hard work. There are different techniques you need to implement to make sure you are getting the traffic and comments necessary to keep your blog full of life.

Reasons why your blog post is boring and not getting enough traffic:

1. Your Topics are Not Eye-Catching:

It is important to write titles that are attractive so that readers are more likely to click on your page. Remember: when you publish your article, it will be placed on several search engines so make your topics interesting. For example, if you are writing a post on search engine optimization, the topic might be “How to Use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for Your Blog.” This is a bit boring; you might want to name it “Reasons Why Your Blog Sucks and How SEO Can Fix It.”

2. Not Utilizing On and Off-Page SEO:

Your blog isn’t targeted to everybody but to a specific audience. If you don’t utilize on and off-page SEO strategies, you might be getting the wrong audience to visit your blog or not getting the right traffic to bring in the profit you want. On-page SEO requires you to place your keywords in the page title, meta description, tags, and so on. Off-page SEO are ways you can build quality links for your various keywords so that Google can place those keywords on the first page of results. Examples of this are blog commenting, article submission, and online forum participation. These will allow people to find your keywords through your website easily.

3. No SEO Package Installed:

If you don’t have an SEO package installed, you might be missing out on an opportunity to rank your post effectively. Two great SEO packages are Yoast SEO and All In One SEO package. My favorite is Yoast SEO because it allows you to enter your focus keyword, SEO title, meta description and meta keywords. Entering this information is essential because when search engines crawl and index your site, it tells them what your site is about and how it can be ranked on search engines.

4. Duplicating Other Bloggers’ Content:

Sometimes, as bloggers, we get overwhelmed to meet the demand to keep our blogs fresh with interesting content. This can be a challenge and is one of the reasons why some bloggers plagiarize other people’s content. Note that plagiarizing is a big no-no and should not be tolerated. Duplicating content can affect your Google rankings and eventually the reputation of your website. Always remember to write interesting and original content.

5. Lack of Social Media Content:

Being unconnected with social media is like being on an island all by yourself. In order to be in the loop, you must register on the major social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Stumbleupon. Don’t just register; be active on these sites and let people know what your blog is about.

6. Never Give Up:

Some people who start their blogs get frustrated because they are not getting a lot of traffic. Most start-up blogs have only 15 to 50 views per day, but as you continue to write, the traffic will grow. There is no easy way to suddenly get thousands of readers. It requires hard work and dedication, but eventually the results will begin to show. Best of luck in your blogging efforts.
