The BlackBerry brand has seen plenty of problems lately. They haven’t had a hit in a long time, while plenty of other manufacturers are producing better phones. Take for example, HTC. They desperately needed a hit phone, and it seems they’ve been able to do so with the One X, a top smartphone with great features.
Are you a loyal BlackBerry fan? If you’re looking to sell your BlackBerry for an upgrade, you can go with their top of the line smartphone, the BlackBerry Torch 9810, or you can go with HTC’s newest offering, the One X.
If you don’t know what to choose, here’s a little guide that can help you.
First and foremost, both of these phones have ample screen size. The Torch 9810 has a 3.2 inch screen, but the One X trumps the Torch with a 4.7 inch screen.
That doesn’t mean to say that the display doesn’t look bad. The Torch has a screen resolution of 640 x 480 pixels while the One X has 1280 x 720 pixels. Clearly, the One X looks better, but it depends on your taste.
The screen of the Torch still looks nice because of the smaller screen. If it were to have a higher resolution, text would be really small and indecipherable.
Both cameras have great features. The Torch has a 5 megapixel camera with flash and plenty of other features that include digital zoom and face detection. It certainly is a nice camera.
The One X also provides powerful shooting capabilities. First, it has an 8.0 megapixel camera that takes really nice pictures. It can also record video in 1080p HD and you get a bunch of features, such as the ability to take pictures while recording video.
You can also capture panoramic shots, bursts shots and the zero shutter lag is particularly helpful.
Now, here’s where you have to think really hard.
Right now, the Torch comes with BlackBerry 7. It’s a really effective OS with plenty of features. For example, you get BlackBerry Messenger, which is a secure way to chat with other BlackBerry owners.
You also get access to plenty of useful apps in their app store.
With the One X, you get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s got plenty of features too, such as Face Unlock and a multitasking button.
But the difference is that HTC has decided to infuse its own customization, called Sense 4.0. There are added features, such as the “Slide to App” function from the lock screen. You’ll be able to jump to any app you want right from the lock screen. Access Facebook, Email and Games without swishing through the menus!
BlackBerry smartphones are great. You can sell your BlackBerry and get the Torch if you’re loyal to the brand.
If you’re feeling adventurous though, you can try the One X, which is the current flagship phone of HTC. It’s definitely a great phone to have. With its HD screen and powerful camera, it’s certainly wonderful.
All you have to do is pick the right one.
