It is not a secret, but the RAM market is currently saturated, so when new brands come in they had usually have to have something a little bit extra that makes them stand out from the crowd. Avexir ,a Taiwanese memory products provider has just recently come into a market with the Avexir Core Series RAM.
The kit we obtained for our review is the 4GBx2 DDR3 1600MHz variant, perfect for dual memory setup, which is so common these days. You can get another kit for a 16GB DDR3 set up that is more than enough for most performance or gaming rigs today.
With the kit ,each stick is set at 4GB with speeds of 1600MHz, and a timing of 9-9-9-24 using JEDEC standard latency timing. The voltage meanwhile is set at 1.5V with the allowance of 0.075V, and can be tweaked via XMP if you so desire to in order to gain more main memory bandwidth.
Performance-wise, the Avexir Core RAMs perform just as expected, Benchmark scores are good and its smooth sailing when running intensive software, its won’t be breaking records, but it is definitely commendable.
What stands out for us the most, however , is the fact that the RAM sticks light up whenever the PC is turned on. Its been a while since we last saw RAMs that lit up as the PC modding community that used to love adding a lot of LED lights in their rigs.
Our sticks lit up in bright red, but from what we know about the Avexir series ,there are also variants that light up in white, yellow, blue and green. Those who are keen to bling up their machines won’t be disappointed with what Avexir has to offer.
Pretty lights are not the only thing on offer here as Avexir has also ensured that the sticks will be able to withstand any heat from inside the chassis. The Avexir Core series utilises 8 layers of double copper PCB for the best thermal conductivity and also the maximum overclocking capability on a budget.
