30 Places You Must See On Google Earth

Google Earth is a virtual globe, map and geographical information program that was originally called EarthViewer 3D, and was created by Keyhole, Inc, a Central Intelligence Agency. Google Earth lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, from galaxies in outer space to the canyons of the ocean. Google Earth displays satellite images of varying resolution of the Earth’s surface, allowing users to see things like cities and houses looking perpendicularly down or at an oblique angle (see also bird’s eye view). The degree of resolution available is based somewhat on the points of interest and popularity, but most land is covered in at least 15 meters of resolution.

On google earth, when zooming in i can get good clear pictures pretty close up in some places particularly in the UK and some cities eg, new york, but i cant get a clear close up of other places around the world. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to do something to make it better? please help.
Thanks, thats a bit of a bummer as i don’t want to look at populated areas.

    • Google Earth is a “moziac” of the latest satellite images it finds on the web. Some are weeks old while the black and white, blurrier ones could be 15 years old or more.

Bottom line, you can’t fix them. As GE finds newer images, it automatically replaces the older ones.

  4. Do you think some people are able to find lost cities using google earth imaging like i did.

  5. In google earth 5.0 you can see areas in the 40s but how did they get those images if the first satellite didn’t launch until 1957 and the first time a satellite to took photos of earth, from space, was in 1959.

  6. I’ve had Google Earth for a little while and I’ve just downloaded the 7-day free trial of Google Earth Pro. Point is, there doesn’t seem to be any difference between the two or if there is, there’s nothing at first glance. Google Earth Pro is 400 dollars while Google Earth is free.

  7. I want to make a map and print that for a specific area in high resolution from google earth. But my problem is that I can’t joined the snaps properly in Photoshop for getting the wright map for a specific area. Is there any software for taking the snap shorts from google earth and joined them all to generate the right map for that area in high resoulution.

    • sorry, but there is no software to take a snapshot from google earth, but you can do so by other way.
      1) you can print screen the page by pressing the print screen button of your keyboard,
      2) then paste it in mspaint and cut out the map and paste in other paint.
3)then slide the map in google earth and again repeate the 1st step.
      4) after that paste that map in other paint i which you had pasted earlier after cutting.
      5) and slide that to join both maps to a single in paint.
by this way you can create a whole map.
ya, it will take some time but by this way you can get your whole map clear.

  8. Really amazing….
